Hi, I’m Sarah!
If you're struggling with anxiety, identity, relationships, or healing from an eating disorder, I want you to know—your pain makes sense, and you don’t have to carry it alone.
As a therapist at HLH Therapy, my work is grounded in warmth, respect, and a deep belief in your capacity to grow. Therapy with me is about creating a relationship where you feel seen, safe, and supported while exploring the "why" behind your experiences.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is integrative and compassionate, while also gently challenging clients when it’s helpful. I draw from:
Relational Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
Somatic techniques
The Gottman Method (for couples)
My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where my clients can explore what’s holding them back and move towards a more authentic, fulfilling life.
My Specialties
I work with adolescents, teens, and adults navigating:
These experiences are often accompanied by grief, shame, or unspoken fear—and my role is to help hold those emotions with you. Together, we’ll create space for your full emotional experience while also identifying ways to grow and move forward.
Core Values
My work is centered in my values of:
LGBTQIA+ affirming care
Health at Every Size® (HAES) principles
Strengths-based care
Incorporating all systems in attending to the needs of clients
Why I Became a Therapist
My journey to become a therapist began with a personal one. After going through my own eating disorder recovery journey, I knew I wanted to offer others what I needed: a therapist who gets it, and who isn’t afraid to walk with you through the complicated parts.
Outside of Therapy
I’m based in Austin and love spending my free time outside, trying new recipes, or getting lost in a live show. I’ve recently started playing tennis, and I find small joys—like exploring a new restaurant or being in nature—go a long way in supporting my own wellbeing.
